The company "O Chefe Silvestre" is the result of a great deal of commitment and dedication, as well as the training obtained by its managers. The company name was chosen since it is a family firm and it also honours the managers' parents who - from the outset - helped them make their dreams come true. Paulo Silvestre qualified as a Cook and Baker at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo in Faro from 1984-86. Nélia Silvestre qualified as a Cook at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo at Portimão at the same time. They both trained and worked at a few 5-star hotels in the Algarve until 1992, after which Chef Paulo went abroad to be a chef at the Luanda Airport restaurant facilities.
Our company's first restaurant opened in 2002 in the Portimão suburb of Sesmarias and offers table service for 90 patrons as well as a take-away section to allow customers the chance of enjoying our delightful dishes in the comfort of their homes. This restaurant's specialities are charcoal-grilled dishes, although the varied menu offers many others.
We work with meat 100% selected high quality because we are in love with the best meat and juicier, love the charcoal grills, we have provided the pig on the grill, the steak, the titty, chicken on the barbecue, cod grilled and others and our famous dishes that are already legendary in our restaurant and that the world knows, we speak of mixed grilled, taboo meat with tropical fruits, grill the head, roasted Iberian, our satay varied flavors, and even the best pizzas made only with fresh ingredients. Quality is the watchword!
